Dear Literary explorers:
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing class we had today. Your students followed the Chinese lessons so well. They learned to write the Chinese characters from 1 to 10. They counted from 1 to 100 in Chinese with hand motions. They are able to read the numbers I wrote on the board. We also learned the common phrases below.
How are you? I am fine.
Thank you. You are welcome.
I am sorry. It's all right.
See you tomorrow. See you next week.
They sang these words in Chinese and acted out the movements that reinforce their understanding and retention. On top of all of these they learned the Pin Yin (Chinese phonic) and the 4 tones. They are welcome to practice the character writing at home. Since this is a club, I will only motivate them to write them instead of demanding that they learn them for the test.
Each student has a small white board to write the numbers I dictated. Some got 100% memorized already, some 80%. No one got less than that. I am so proud of them.
Most importantly, we had a great time together singing, dancing, playing games. I will do frequent review to reinforce their retention. I tried to video tape some part of the class, but not realize there were stuff in my camera and it ran out the memory. I will try again next week.
I will continue to search out the most effective way to teach your student Chinese language. I will post each week's lesson on http://joyouschineseatkincaid.blogspot.com/ for your reference.
Have a great time exploring your children's experience in Chinese Club.
